It was tested in ZDoom, but it should be compatible with any port that lifts limits and supports mp3s. An earlier version was released in 2006, but this version has three new rooms, a great deal more architectural detail, much more balanced play. *** Fair warning: It would be wise to conserve ammo through judicious use of the chainsaw and infighting, and through appropriate weapon choice. Unless you like trying to take down a Barron with your fist, or a Cyberdemon with your chaingun. :) *** The design is based on a description of a set of marble halls and a corridor in the classic fantasy book /Phantastes/, by George MacDonald. The Too Young to Die difficulty setting is about as difficult as most wads are on Hurt Me Plenty. It's insanely (but not hopelessly) difficult on Ultra Violence. It plays quite differently each time; any little thing you do different can change everything thereafter pretty dramatically. A couple of new sounds just for fun: a door opening sound, and switch open/close sounds. New original mp3 music "Outpost 42" by David Finnamore, copyright 2012. Three new colors of the green MARBLE1 Doom texture, and flats to match: black, white, and red. One door borrowed from Valkiriforce's excellent Doom Core wad. * Copyright / Permissions * Copyright 2012 by David J. Finnamore. This wad may be distributed freely in its zipped form with this document attached. Feel free to use the new sounds, music, and graphics in your non-commerical wads if you like them, appropriately credited. |
